Anti-Inflammatory Foods
Using food as medicine for joint pain.
Many people experience inflammation in the body, symptoms of pain and swelling. This may be linked to arthritis or osteoporosis or some other condition. The good news is that I have found that certain foods can lower inflammation in the body. I encourage my patents to consume these foods so to get some relieve from pain.
Anti-Inflammatory Foods Include:
- All colourful vegetables – these are high in minerals and antioxidants.
- Fish and seafood – are rich in anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids, which have proven to be extremely effective in reducing joint pain and inflammation.
- Bone broth, chicken stock or fish stock – when made from scratch these carry gelatine and minerals in a form that the body can absorb easily.
- Herbs and spices – these have a wide variety of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins and help to maximise the nutrient density of your meals.
I would also like to point out that there are also foods and drinks that you need to avoid, as certain foods can also be pro-inflammatory and can worsen your condition.
Foods to avoid:
- Sugar
- Soft drinks
- Alcohol
- Coffee
- Gluten
- Dairy
If you can adopt these changes to your diet and in particular increase the recommended foods in your diet you should notice a reduction in your joint pain.
I hope this helps you! For any further information on this or any other condition please contact me: info@dorotatrupp.com
