How to Ease Bloating with Digestive Enzymes
We hate bloating, right? We really don’t like it when our stomach expands to unacceptable size, usually without a warning, making us feel just hopeless! 🙁
There could be few reasons why we are suffering from blotting;
- Bloating could be brought about as a reaction to foods that we can’t digest, such as foods that are rich in lactose, gluten or fructose.
- Bloating can be caused by a parasitic infection, bacterial imbalances in your gut such as SIBO/ dysbiosis and a leaky gut.
- Bloating can be caused by indigestion due to shortage of digestive enzymes and stomach acid (HCL).
To help yourself, you may try removing certain foods from your diet, or you may investigate further for parasite infection, dysbiosis and leaky gut and seek an appropriate treatment of that.
However, there is a quick and easy way to determine some of the common causes of bloating without seeing a specialist; trying to identify, if you suffer from low stomach acid (HCL), or low digestive enzymes, or both through observation.
How do you asses digestive enzymes/HCL shortage?
When you experience bloating, it may be useful to pay attention to how quickly the bloating sets in and what foods trigged it.
- When we experience bloating pretty much straight away, and after consuming protein rich meal, it may be an indication we are not having an adequate level of stomach acids.
- When we experience bloating about 2-4 hours after consumption of meal it may be indication of low pancreatic enzymes production that help to further break down proteins, as well as breaking down fats and carbohydrates.
As a first line of defence, you may try adding good quality digestive enzymes (Such as Digestaid by Eagle) as a supplement to each meal and see, if this resolves your digestive symptoms of bloating.
