Countless number of people around the world lose weight on a diet that is called Low Carb High Fat (LCHF).
You may have heard of it, it is similar to Paleo or the Atkins Diet, but with the intention of eating more fat. In today’s video blog post I would like to look closely at the rationale behind it’s success.
LCHF restrict carbohydrate consumption, often for the treatment of obesity or diabetes. There is a typical avoidance of foods such as sugar, bread, pasta and replaced with foods containing higher percentage of fats and protein, for example; meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, eggs, cheese and seeds and other foods low in carbohydrates, such as green leafy vegetables, as well as low sugar fruits and berries.
LCHF diet can be used in the prevention of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome.
There are so many diets out there that can help you achieve your health and weight goals. Make sure that you know your constitution well and consult your nutritionist before you embark on any new dietary regimen.
From my personal experience, LCHF diet certainly helps with weight loss as well as mood stabilisation. I have used it on myself strictly for a few weeks when undergoing weight loss and in general low carbohydrate diet is a way of life I choose to maintain my weight. It may not be a diet for everyone though. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, you may find it uneasy to embark on and follow.
