Food is science!
Something we tend to overlook when considering a healthy diet is that when foods enter the body they go through a scientific process to be digested and are then used for different functions within the body.
Understanding the affects that foods have on our physiology can be some of the most useful information we can have in discerning what food groups and/or diets are best suited to our health and body goals.
Humans are traditionally omnivores. I believe that both plant and animal foods are important for maintaining a healthy body. They both have their individual functions and benefits.
